| craniotomy versus jaw issues
Hello everyone! To first start, I had a left anterior Temporal Lobectomy in 1995 for epilepsy. I still have seizures. There's 12 titanium screws on left side skull that were always sensitive to the touch. It was ruled out no infections; and not removed. Now for past 2 years, I have been experiencing inflammation of the left temporal area/ jaw with closing of the left ear canal and tenderness to the touch of anything in that area, esp. my ear and earlobe. My neurologost thought it might be a Neuroma from the surgery and sent me to Neurosurgery. They got and MRI of my jaw, instead of my brain (as neuro wanted), and diagnosed me with a severe dislocated jaw. Also, I saw Oral surgery who stated it was neither and I have trauma migraines. I was told to take Nortriptylline 40 mg/ night! I cant even reach to 40 mg, along with my seizure meds, 10 mg knocks me out w/in 30 mins. These episodes come and go a few times/month and they can last 3-4 days each time with feeling exhausted. Last week, I began having pain and sensitivty to the left lower teeth and cannot chew on that side. Also sensitive to cold and hot water. Just because of my history I want to rule out anything Neurological. TMJ was never mentioned to me. What do I do? Pleas help!!! Thanks you!
