numbness in lower body
Hello,
I am 29 years old and scared basically! I have two children, the youngest of whom is 11 months, and the eldest is 2.5 years. After my first baby I developed autoimmune thyroid disease and am now hypothyroid.
My thyroid levels are controlled by replacement hormone and are in balance at the moment, so I really can no longer blame my 'symptoms' on that...
Firstly some background:
about 8 years ago I woke up one morning and I could not feel my legs from the groin down, could hardly walk etc..I panicked and went to see my Gp who referred me to see a neurologist, however said that it was likely that I had an 'infection of the myelin sheath'..
Within a few weeks I gradually got 'better' and went back to see my GP whop said that he was probably right in the first instance so he cancelled the neurology app.
I haven't had any further episodes of this since...until now.
However, I did suffer with symphysis pubis dysfunction in my last pregnancy (where the pelvis joint is unstable and grates causing pain and numbness..and slowly this has improved and got better...
This brings me to the present. Without warning or injury I am having the same sort of numbness as I did several years ago..I have tingling and can not feel my legs, genitals and most of my buttock and basically I am scared..
anyone have any ideas?? This seems to get worse at the end of the day, and I have a lot of lumbar pain in the centre of my back.
Recently had investigations into enlarged lymph nodes and my ESR levels were normal..
it makes me even more scared.
Thank you if you got this far and I hope that someone can enlighten me,
Cheers
Kerryhinch
