have been sent to neuoro doctor to be seen about having paraesthesia? what is this does any one know...havent seen dr yet..i just had mri on spine,neck and brain...and then they set me up for this ...my cat scan was abnornal of brian so i did mri, now they are sendin me for paresthesai..can u help with any onfo??
paresthesia is abnormal nerve feelings like tingling, burning, electric shock pain, numbness etc. It can be caused by a number of things including reaction to medications, tumors, autoimmune diseases like Chrons, spine damage, nerve entrapments etc, or they may never find a reason for it.
I have too much of it for at least a year now and no diagnosis.

Parathesis is what they called my issue when I landed in the ER last summer not able to feel my right arm. It was weird I could see it of course but my body did not register it was there. Very scary!
For me it was a neurological issue brought on by treating Lyme disease and other tick borne coinfections. Parathesis is actually quite common in those with tick borne illness. When you treat with antibiotics the symptoms can get even worse. Unfortunatley for me I still had not gotten and accurate diagnosis so was not prepared for the herxheimer reaction (reaction to dead bacteria) that I was having. It was really scary.
I do not remember being bitten by a tick - nor did I have a Bull's Eye rash. I have lyme and two tick borne coinfections to boot.
