Tickling in Upper Back and Stomach - Neuromuscular Diseases Message Board

Hello!

I'm a 35 year old male who has been dealing with an odd set of symptoms for a year or so now (off and on). I have a bad back, which has bothered me since my early twenties, and am also overweight (but working on it!

). A few years ago I developed a "tickling" sensation in my chest/upper stomach that seemed to be tied to a tightness/pain in my upper middle back.

When I stretched out, walked, or stood, it didn't bother me, but when I sat it started up, and it was annoying as heck. After a few months, it went away.

Now, just over a year ago, the symptoms returned. This seems to come and go, sometimes lasting for weeks or months, and seems to return when I do something stupid, like lift heavy things alone, or when I'm stressed out, and, as in the past, it's at its worst when sitting (which I do all day, as I'm a writer/graphic designer)!

Has anyone ever experienced this? These aren't twitches or anything. Just a tickling!

My doctor sent me in for a full GI work-up, all my bloods are fine, my heart is great, blood pressure normal, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

have you tried an allergy test.. i get it too, but it goes away somtimes.

Actually, I haven't tried an allergy test. I've thought about the possibility that it may be allergies, but the combination of the back pain/tightness and the tickling sensation made me think it was something neuromuscular. Also, it only bothers me a lot when I'm sitting/laying down. Oddly, exercise and standing seem to alleviate it for awhile.

have you had your galbladder checked? I get the pain between my shoulder blades,and in front of my stomach,and I have galstones,good luck.
