I have really bad butt pain, i cant sit down at all. No pressure can be applied to my butt. Its upper butt lower back, its causing my butt to swell really bad, i have to bumps and it looks like i have bruises. I cant take it anymore. But i dont have insurance so i cant go to the doctors, so if anyone could help me and tell me how to fix it, i would be so thank full.

Hi Paula, I would go to the ER and have it checked out. They can't refuse you even if you have no insurance or no money. They will even recommend that you go to Social Services to see if you're eligible for Medicaid or to see if they'll help you. You have to good hospitals close by with Wake Med and also I would suggest Duke which is a real good choice. Duke will also work with you. My choice would be Duke because I received excellent care there when I had double pneumonia. I think it something you really need to go have checked out.

Sounds like a pilonidal (?) cyst to me. My husband has this. The cyst has to be lanced (drained) and then you should have instant relief...but I would only have a doctor do this as it requires local anesthesia.

It definitely sounds like a pilonidal cyst to me too. My fiancée suffers from it too and his last flare up was brutal. When his cyst became infected it grew to the size of a golf ball. I took him to the ER, since the infection was trapped in the cyst. At that point it wouldn't have gone away on its own, so it had to be lanced. The infection was drained and the wound was left open to heal inside out to prevent another infection.
What seemed to help my fiancée through his first pilonidal surgery and his latest flare-up was sitting on a U-shaped cushion (like those travel neck pillows). Sitting on the cushion with the U-opening at your backside helps take the pressure off the cyst area.
