| 14 Year old with Writers Cramp
I am 17 years old and i was diagnosed with Witers Cramp when i was almost 16.
It all started when i was 14 and i was in English at school and my friend said, look at your hand its shaking, and to my amazment it was shaking fast and uncontrolobly.
My mum said to leave it a week in case it was just a trapped nerve. It got to the stage were i was taken round the doctors, i was sent for a few blood tests to see if it was my Thyroid gland, it wasn't.
As the doctors didn't know what was happening they reffered me to my local hospital. They said they would have to carry out a MRI scan which was the most horryfying thing i've ever done, as just two years before my cousing had a brain tumor and i had seen what she had to go threw. After a month of waiting i got the news i had been waiting for, it wasnt a tumor. So what was it???
During the next year, and countless hospital appointments the tremmors had died down but the pain and disscumfort was a lot worse.
When i finally was told what the condition i had was i was very relieved. I had to take my GCSEs on a lap top, and a lot of my teachers didn't belive i had this condition.
The pain was very server by this point, it kept me up at night as well as waking me constently through it.
I was reffered to a hospital up in London which was a lot bettter then the one in kent.
I've been there almost a year. And i go there evrey three months.
They perscribed me with tablets to ease the tremmors but the pain is any thing but relieved. I have to take 5 tablets a day, and if any thing, they don't help. They make me feel very sick and dizzy, therefore i have come off them now.
I have heard that there can be a lot of different treatments out there, but is there any one who has got this condition and have had any medical treatment that can advise me on what to do.
I had a blood test done almost 6 months ago. It is looking at the genes in my blood, but should this test take this long ?
