Hello,
I too have a winged scapula. I went to see a specialist b/c I was having numbnes sin my wrists and tingling, so I thought maybe I had carpal tunnel syndrome, but when my specialist went to run the EEG, he discovered that carapal tunnel syndrome was not present. He then examined my posture and noticed that my right scapula was much higher than my left one. I too have been set up for an MRI but I do not go until Aug 12. Waitlist are long in Canada! I get alot og next pain and spasms. I also have had xrays showing that the c2, and c3 in my neck is incomplete, as the bones ar fused together. This makes my head slightly forward but causes alot of discomfort. Was your winged scapula caused by any type of accident? That is what my specialist thinks happened to mine, as I was in a MVA 6 years ago and suffered whiplash, and as a result this problem has occured. I have been told that physio and massage is helpful, but not surgical measures. I am at an early stage of diagnosis as I have a feeling the MRI may discover a herinated disc or two

Do you suffer from an other dibiliating symptoms? I am a healthy 25 year old female, but when it comes to my neck and shoulder area, I sometimes feel like I'm 70. One more thing to add, one morning I woke up with a shooting pain that went from my neck down my left arm. The pain intensified throughtout the day. I finally got to the point that I said enough was enough, and I went to get into my car to go to th ER and I lost all sight and hearing. I was about to get sick so I leaned over, and a friend of mine came and sat me down. Still to this day nothing has been determined of that pain, but I thought it was unusal to have such intense pain for no apprent reason...
