Re: buttocks pain
Hello. I have myofascial pain syndrome and your symptom sounded very much like mine this year. You can have trigger points or muscular knots in your gluteus minimus, one of the gluteal muscles that can cause pain in the buttock, hip, refer pain down the thighs and to the ankle. This is one of my areas as well, in the myotherapy world it is called, "pseudo sciatica". I would suggest making an appt with a myotherapist, trigger point specialist or massage therapist who knew about trigger points. Sounds like you are having pain referral down your legs to your ankles. Contact one of these specialist and tell them this and they can evaluate you for trigger points and referred pain.
In addition, I use a device called the jacknobber that you can manually press in on the tight spots yourself. You can look up the National Association of Myotherapist or Trigger POint Specialists. Good luck to you. jess
