tricep atrophy

Hi everyone. It's been awhile since I needed to post. That's a good thing. I was diagnosed with a cervical herniation at c6-c7. An MRI confirmed that. I had neck pain, severe pain through my shoulder, and my middle finger was numb. I did PT at first but that didn't help. I was treated with oral steroids and anti inflamatory drugs. The strength and size of my tricep deteriorated quite a bit. However, after 2 months the pain in my neck is gone, my shoulder pain is gone, and the numbness in my finger is gone. I have started to work out with weights.(Much less than before condition.) My tricep seems to be slightly stronger but the size has changed very little. Does anyone know if this is just going to be a long process to regain my strength and size, or should I be concerned and tell my doctor? As before, I really appreciate all your inputs.
