Cost / Benefit of Medical Diagnosis for HNPP
I suspect that I have HNPP. I'm a 55 year old woman. Since I was about 25, I've had probably 60+ episodes of lasting numbness and loss of sensation in my hands, feet, arms and legs. Some of them last for months. Doctors have never provided helpful treatment. I've learned to treat myself by identifying the pressure point, avoiding re-injury, and taking ibuprofen. My father and daughter also have this problem.
Question: Is there any benefit to being tested for the HNPP? If the diagnosis is confirmed, will it just result in denied insurance coverage and increased costs? Have others had experience in this?
