diagnose peripheral neuropathy

so i am a diabetic who has never had an a1c over 6.4 and i have peripheral neuropathy but very strange, it doesn't bother me when i lay down actually gets better, standing of sitting it acts up, when i put my pants on brushing against my thighs cause my feet to vibrate, now my gp decided to go over my neurologist head and order a lumbar mri, which showed all kinds of bilateral stenosis and radiculopathies in the l4 l5 region, could this be the cause of the neuropathy ?

Re: diagnose peripheral neuropathy

In a word, yes. Tingling and some numbness in a foot was my first symptom of lower lumbar issues...which didn't develop for another couple years. I was told I had peripheral neuropathy by a podiatrist, but it turned out not to be the case. The symptoms were caused by stenosis and spondylolisthesis at L4-5.
