Palinopsia - Neuropathy Message Board

Ive had palinopsia now for about a year after being prescribed Ameytriplin for problems I was having, which later turned out to be a miss diagnosis.

I stopped taking the drugs and noticed slight visual problems occuring, these have got gradually worse over the course of a year leading to very bad trailing images, and prolonged after images as well as sensitivity to light, halos and seeing lots of spots on different colours of surfaces, as well as other things.

Over the last few weeks it has been getting a lot worse and Im getting quite anxious about it, I dont understand how it can keep getting worse when I stopped the drugs so long ago.

Ive looked all over the web for any help or info on treatment or for a doctor I could consult about it but have found next to nothing. Could anyone please help me?

Dan, I think something like this, you really need to get a opinion from a professional, such as your optometrist.

I have already seen one, it doesnt exactly fill you with confidence when he said that he had never heard of the problems I was having and said that there was nothing wrong.

I had to do my own research to find out what was wrong with me as noone has given me any anwsers. Thats why I need to find someone that has dealt with this problem before understands what it is and what to do about it.
