Re: How far up does your neuropathy go?

Hi! I guess we both have the same question.....MY feet have been completly numb for over 4 years with no treatment till now.(broke my ankle 4 times) I still did not go for help...figured I had M.S...was in a dipression and just continued to drink (thats proubly why I have this) any how I did get one test about a year ago and confirmed I had Neuropathy<came home..got on the web...looked it up...thought O.K.....(denile)....And figured I'll deal with it. Answer to your question is yes it can travel...thats why three days ago I went to the Cleveland Clinic to begin my journey into this .......my right hand is almost completely numb. That happened in about 3 weeks. My feet took about 2 years to get there. The last few days have been hard I already I'am living under great stress in my personal life. Getting on this site yeasterday and really having to face what seems to be my future, has been hard.I have all the symptoms.(well seem's most) But you see, I already knew what I did 't wont to face till now...I have been sober about a year and a half..I'am A very young minded 45 year old..I have children...and dreams of doing alot of running around still. well at least walking around as fast as I can! That has not been the case either but ya know what I mean. Tell me more about yourself.Do you know whats wrong with you at all, how long has this been going on ETC.I have done a bit of resurch on my own, nothing like some of these people, they sound like they all went to med school..but I guess with this illness you had better.

Re: How far up does your neuropathy go?

I am 45 male type 2 diabetic. I was very depressed and refused to see doctors for 10 years, I knew I was diabetic, I just got worse and worse. Then one day I had a mild stroke 3 years ago. I have been under treatment ever since. Now I am left with two numb and tingling feet. No cure but the neurontin helps relieve it a little.

Re: How far up does your neuropathy go?

It's me again, excuse my spelling(always have been bad at that) but with my right hand going numb it's a bit harder.I'am type 2 too,not on insulin, was once about 9 years ago. I too had a mild stroke, year and half ago, detoxing off of alcohol, I'am guessing thats what caused the neuropathy.,combination of alot of things.I have never been in a chat room or what ever you call this.Just got on the computer about 4 mths ago. I have been avoiding this problem and I can't any more so thought I would try to get more info. and found this site.I went to Cleveland Clinic for the first time monday they put me on neurontin also, I'am also on zoloft for depression.I don't have E.S.P. or any thing but it sounds like you have just given up.How bad are your feet, can you walk? I have never talked to any one with neuropathy before, not that I wonted to , I mean I just wonted to not look at it, I broke my ankle 4 times in one year, the feeling was completly gone, feet looked like "bird feet" Hay I used to have pretty sexy feet. The point is, with all this happening I did't get it checked out.Are you able to work, whats hapening with you????
