Are these the symptons? - Neuropathy Message Board

I am a d-2 on meds. Three weeks ago my meds were the same but generic and different generic. At the same time I was helping a friend mover so I was lifting stuff.
About twoo weeks ago my feet the toes mostly are tingly and so are the tips of my fingers. Doesn't hurt and no burning but get kinds numb and it goes on and off all day. Worse when I stand sometimes.
I have insurance with the state or a program and they told me I had to wait till the 24th or go to the er if anything happened.

Is this signs of neuropathy? Some one told me I should stayr taking Benfotiamine for this. You can buy it on line. I am just a wreck over this and wanted to get some ideas from you all while waiting for appt.
How do they know if it is nerves or your back like a pinched nerve. I have thought because of moving stuiff I hurt myself maybe. But everything I have always done before didn't make this go away ,also I only had it in my hands before and one leg not the feet. Thank you

I have burning& numbing fingertips.I had Nerve test done(EMG) they said Ulnar nerve entrapment at the elbow.I work jigsaw puzzles&lean elbow on table alot.Nerve test is a jolt of pain,on certain areas.It is worth having done.

Well, I think thats a personal choice whether its worth having done or not. From my experience, having it done in december, still not back to work, more pain now than ever, its not. My sister had the same surgery in march of this year by the same surgeon and she is fine now, so....I think everyone is different. I wouldnt have it done again for all the tea in china...but she wouldnt hesitate...I dont know what went wrong with mine. Im 41..healthy...shes 51 and more medical problems then i could spell..including diabetic...so I say ya never know, I just hope they find out whats wrong with me before too long.

First thing I would try is getting back onto the meds that you originally had. NO GENERICS. Some generic medications don't work well for certain people. Your doctor can write Name Brand Only on the script.

I was on Neurontin and then HAD to try the gabapentin. It didn't work for me so I am back on Neurontin.

Try this first and try to rest as much as possible in a prone position. You may have overdone it just a little to much and your body needs time to recover from it.
