| Re: Any Advise? All answers welcomed
I know what you mean when you say you wonder if it's all in your head. I have chronic pain in my mouth (feels like I'm having continuous dental surgery!). I am so sick of going to doctors and specialists, tests, medications - nothing helps. Mine is different from yours in that it isn't set off by anything like touch - it's just constant, although varying in intensity. Usually it's better in the morning and gets worse as the day goes on. The "official" diagnosis is "phantom" or central pain, and it seems the only solution is medication, although I have yet to find a medication that works and that I can tolerate. The side effects are always worse than the pain! I have tried accupuncture - three different times with three different accupuncturists - and it didn't help in the least. However, I have heard from people with your kind of pain who have been helped, so it probably is worth a try. All I can say is hang in there. It's not all in your head. I guess we just have to keep trying things.
