Leg problems - Neuropathy Message Board

I'm in a tizzy about my condition. I would greatly appreciate a post from you if you have pretty much the same symptoms.

I have bilateral lower leg anterior numbness/tingling (painless). This is my only symptom! I've had an EMG/NCV (neg), an exam (passed everything I was put through, ie, walking on heels, toes, normal reflexes, eyes checked, etc.) by a neuro doc.

She ordered a ton of blood work (ESR, RA, ANA, etc.) and other blood tests do not show deficiency in B12, anemia, etc.

I do have arthritis in my knees and also in my feet. Some of my toes are stiff, second toe is starting to overlap big toe.

Hi, just wondering if you have had an MRI of the lower spine and/or a 3 -5 hour glucose tolerance test, sounds like you have had most of the normal tests though.

Thanks for the reply Tomy999. To answer your question, no, I've never had these tests. I guess before it's over with, I will.

I take atenolol, HCTZ, Lisinipril, and lovastatin for my rapid heartbeat and hypertension. I have to wonder if these meds could be causing this problem. I've mentioned it to my neuro but she sort of brushed that off. Meanwhile, I'm at a loss!

plumtired-don't brush off the side effects of meds- go to the -i think heart boards or high cholesterol-where people have had terrible side effects to atenolol and other meds...read their posts and see if any apply to you-good luck!

I agree with Grandkidsrf8, nothing should be over looked, numbness and tingling can be a side affect of HCTZ ,

Some docs geta bit funny when you mention possabilities, but remember your paying them to work, so make them listen to you.
