Hi! I am a 24 year old male and lately I have been experiencing some strange symptoms. The symptoms started approximately two and a half weeks ago with a strange sensation in the backs of both of my thighs. The feeling was somewhere between sore muscles and what I imagine restless leg syndrome would feel like. This sensation came on bilaterally and remained the same for about 2 or 3 days. After these 2 or 3 days the pain/sensation intensified and spread to the fronts of my thighs, my upper arms and maybe ever so slightly into my lower legs. Again, all of these sensations came on bilaterally. The feeling was so intense that it gave me trouble sleeping or even laying down comfortably. After a few more days the feeling subsided greatly and was noticeable only in my thighs if at all. Around this time I also began experiencing some slight muscle twitching. The twitching is primarily in my thighs but does occasionally occur elsewhere in the body. These twitches seem to happen most often when I am sitting on the couch using my laptop and far less if at all anywhere else. Currently the feeling is coming and going with the most sensation coming when I wake up or when I am feeling anxious due to reading about possible causes and the least sensation coming when I seem to be the least anxious or I am doing something to take my mind off of it.

I have read quite a bit about MS, Fibromyalgia and ALS and although I honestly don't think these are the causes I would appreciate some help in ruling them out. I have experienced quite a bit of anxiety as I have learned more about these diseases and I believe some of my pain/sensation can be attributed to that. However, the sensation came on before I began reading about these diseases so I don't feel like I can pin it solely on anxiety.

I should also note that I am a vegetarian who eats very little dairy. Could this be a b-12 Defeciency?

I did feel like I had some sort of strange lingering virus that went right before the leg sensation stated. COuld this be a post-viral syndrome/illness?

I alo have a job that requires quite a bit of heavy lifting. Any chance that this is a pulled muscle or nerve pinch due to improper lifting?

Do these symptoms sound similar to MS, fibromyalgia, ALS or any other disease/syndrome?

What course of action do you recommend? It seems to be non-progressive, with no muscle atrophy or weakness and seems to be getting better but it is definetely still there.
