Spinal Stenosis - Neuropathy Message Board

Does anyone else have Spinal Stenosis? I am trying to find out how others deal with the pain from this affliction and what med they use.

I would highly suggest you go down to the pain management board and also check out the spinal boards,these two boards would proably be the most helpful for you.alot of people suffer with the same stenosis issues you are,me included,but mine is sooo much more complicated due to severe spinal cord injuries along with it.just pop onto those boards i think you will have no problem in obtaining the info you are looking for.good luck,marcia

Katirina........i too have Cervical Spinal Stenosis along with other problems that neuro is trying to get to the bottom of. I also have FM, and he told me the other day that i may have some kind of neuropathy. so i'm not real sure it the medication that i am taking is helping that or not. But it is NOT my major problem.

right now i am taking Neurontin, just started that, so i'm taking 100mg 2x's a day, also taking Mobic, Flexeril, and Darvocet(prn). also have a script for percocet......but i don't want to go there yet.

I also have spinal stenosis along with spondylosis, sciatica, osteoarthritis and DDD and severe scoliosis with a rib hump the size of a grapefruit on my rib cage. Thinking I was a tough old gal never went to the doctor for years. But the pain got so bad I can hardly walk so went to a Spine Center. Had facet injections (didn't Help) and then insurance raised rates to $422 instead of $162 because they say I am lying, with a back as bad as mine I have had to go to a Doctor and they say it is pre-existing and want me to pay $7000.00 back. I am in litigation now. So I will continue to suffer because I can't afford the $150,000.00 surgery that is needed. So I guess what I am saying is please get help NOW!! Don't wait like I did cuz now I am saving for a wheelchair which the doctors say I will need in 3-5 years. I work full time also.
Please get help , FAST. Good luck Dyana

Ahh yes........i also have the spondylitis and osteoarthritis. Neuro is taking MRI of my lumbar spine, as NO ONE has ever went there. He said with me having arthritis in my neck, chances are it's also in my spine. I just have this GUT feeling there's more. There are times.........quite frequently, that i'll get numb area in my back that come and go, real weird feeling. Also in the process on trying to get a Handicap Parking Permit. Gonna wait til after these tests, MRI & MRA on the 14th of this month, to ask neuro if he can fill out form for me. As i said, it's that GUT feeling about my lower back. don't know what it could be, but i think it's more than ole arthur. Gonna check into disablity too........wait on that, as i've heard from many people that it's VERY hard and complicated to get. I can't afford NOT to work, as i am a single mom with 3 kids......17, 12 & 3 1/2.

Hopefully he will get answers, more than FM. He's a great neuro. when they do my EMG on my legs, he's gonna be there, so he can give me the results right then. Doesn't want me to have to wait. that isn't until 12/5. Heck......what's a few more weeks
