Hi, i also had been diagnosed as being prediabetic, that increase of symptons you mention can be the nerves actually healing, once you resolved the blood sugar issue, then the nerves stop being damaged and then they try to heal but seeing they are still not right they send confused messages through the nervous sysytem.
I know from personal experience that i had increased burning at differant stages of my nerves healing, but just ride those waves and slowly the nerves will heal.
I also believe that a Multi B and b12 in the form of methylcobalamin will help the healing process.
This year i have had 2 corticosteriod injections for a bad hip to take the inflamation down, on each occassion my PN flared up for about 1 day then settled down again, i think it upsets the blood sugars short term, i found that it worked well, the first one lasted about 3 months and the second one only lasted 6 weeks, but thats probably due to i need a total hip replacement very soon.
