| neuropathy or something else?

About 2 months ago, I started to feel some kind of numbness in my lower right leg. Then in a few days also some pains and weak feeling. The outer nerve is sensitive if I push near the ankle, but the numbness and weakness seem to come in both this nerve and the sciatic.
I have been to a neuro, who game me some anti-inflamatory medication which doesn't seem to help much and told me to return for xrays in 10 days if things don't improve. Neuro also told it should not be related to the back since I don't have back pains.
Any ideas?
