Re: Why do feet burn

My feet burned horribly for a very long time, I was finally diagnsed with Fibromyalgia, put on Neurontin which helped, and then taken off neurontin and put on Lyrica, it really, really helps.

Re: Why do feet burn

The burning for me was also worse at night, I went thru this for over 10 years before I finally found a doctor to do something about it, thank god I have some relief now. Ask your doc about neurontin or lyrica. Let me know how you are doing.

Re: Why do feet burn

Its the small fiber nerves in your feet that are damaged for some reason, their job is to sense temperature & pain, when their damaged they can't send normal signals to the brain so instead send confused signals.
There a lot of meds out there that may help the severity, everyone will have their favorites that work for them, the one that helped my burning was Endep but that's just me, sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to get the one that helps you the most, so instead of buying new meds then finding out they weren't for you, ask your doctor to try the sample packs they get given to them buy the drug companies before purchasing them, you can save yourself some money that way.
Sometimes Thiamine [ B1 ] taken in divided dosages during the day has helped some with the burning as well, but again it depends on the individual, also alpha liopic acid has helped some with diabetic neuropathy.
Do you know the reason for your feet trouble yet ?

Re: Why do feet burn

I have to comment...The burning is the worst isn't it? It never seems to go away (sometimes worse than others). I sometimes freeze my feet with Ice water in my foot bath. Since I really don't have any feeling in my feet (except pain and burning) the freezing of my feet doesn't bother me but I do have to watch that I don't over do it because I don't want to cause more damange.

Also the under the skin itching, drives me absolutely crazy I also have to freeze my feet for that. Does anyone else have the itching?
