It could be nerve related or a bad disc in your neck. Also could be related to some kind of spinal problem, you need to have it check by a neurologist or neurosurgeon.

I agree, you do need to see a neuro, especially one that is well versed in neuropathy, there are many reasons why this can happen so you need proper testing to hopefully find a cause.
Usually any pressure on the lower spine cord can cause lower limb nerve problems and the cervical spine can cause problems to the upper extremities but just to confuse us more it has been known for cervical pressure to affect lower limbs as well.
A good neuro will send you off for blood and urine tests like, Thyroid, B12, B1, gluten sensitivity, 3 or 5 year glucose tolerance test, toxins, neuronal Antibody, genetic testing, connective tissue workups and there is heaps more, seeing there is over 200 known causes of peripheral nerve damage, hopefully they may be able to find the cause in the most basic tests.
good luck with it anyway.

Unhappy Re: burning sensation in lower limbs.what could be the problem

I am 79 years of age and have a degenerated cervical disc. Have had burning feet and now in my legs. Have had all test imaginable and the final test wast a skin biopsy which showed up that I have Peripheral Neuropathy. I am on lyrica twice a day which stopped the burning feet but now burning and numbness in my legs. The doctor said it was not from the degenarated disc. I had asked about seeing a chiropractor or have accupuncture, he said no to chiro but said maybe having accupuncture. I have come to the conclusion that I have been doomed with this ailment and will have to live with it.

Thumbs up Re: burning sensation in lower limbs.what could be the problem

Hello Cream9518; It breaks my heart to hear you say you are doomed. Please don't give up. What you have to do is get a second opinion. If your dr. can't tell you what your diagnosis or prognosis is, then you need to find one that can and will! I told my story earlier today to another blogger, and it won't hurt me to repeat it for you. My problem began with a hip replacement surgery and ended with sciatic nerve damage. My surgeon told me that my nerve was "****** off"and that my foot, which after I awoke from surgery was numb, tingling, and my toes wouldn't raise forward, would return to normal within 3 to 4 days, then 3 to 4 weeks, and now its Feb. Cream. Of course I was frustrated, depressed, angry. I still can't walk without an AFO and a walker or a cane. I can't drive! I lost my independence. But I turned all of that energy into something productive, something good. I thought, what can I do? I don't even know what's going on with my own body! So I got a second opinion. There is a nerve test out there that can tell you what's going on. It's called an EMG. Get out there Cream, don't give up. If you give up, you lose. I'm a good judge of character, and I believe you are no quiter.
