White matter changes

Just wondering if anyone had white matter changes that turned out to be nothing serious? I'm 31, and had a few white matter changes on my scan that meet none of the McDonald's criteria for MS. I'm being sent to a neurologist (from a NS who told me it's not his expertise). TIA!

You are young, but they say one lesion for every decade of life is normal, then add on if say you've had a head injury in the past or smoke. However, changes within short periods of time usually should be looked into. Do you have any other symptoms? If not, I wouldn't be too concerned, but the neurologist can better help you.

Re: White matter changes

Thanks for the response! I was having some tingling in hands and feet which turned into nerve pain - so I do have some physical things going on. It said "a few nonspecific...." so hopefully it's just a normal amount. Thanks again!
