| Re: Nerve Conduction Test
I have had two done. The first one was done by a nerve specialist in his office. It was a little painful and I did experience some shocking and pain sensations over the next 2-3 days. The second one was done by a neurologist at a university hospital. This one was a lot more painful, and I did have a complication (See my post titled "Damage from EMG?". My complication is not normal, and this has been verified by my own research, another neurologist, and the nerve specialist who did my first one. Just make sure that if you experience anything out of the ordinary during your test, that you discuss it with the person conducting it right then and there. My post is not meant to scare or worry you in any way, but to inform you that it is more than okay to speak up right then if you have any abnormal pains or sensations. I know several people who have had these tests done (incl. my mom), and they didn't have any problems whatsoever.
Good luck and I hope everything turns out okay!
