Hi, my friends who suffer with PN. Just thought I would like to know if there are any one of you have tried Elavil. Have been on 200mgs of Lyrica a day and it seems that I am not getting any relief from this medication. Things have not been getting any better for me. The numbness in both feet and ankle up, are coming about pretty heavy, almost every other day. The electric shocks in my upper back are more frequent than before. Have been getting pains in my right backside and thought it may be from my hip replacement that was done in 2004. It seems that after being diagnosed with a degenarated cervical disc and the hip replacement I have been having all of these problems. I think that a visit to me neurologist will be coming sooner than the scheduled appointment in august. If there is someone who is or has tried Elavil would like to hear from you.

Hi Cream9518, I use to take 150 mg at night & 25 mg in the mornings of Amitriptyline [Elevil or Endep same stuff ], it did help some but i don't know how it compares with Lyrica though, i think that we all do not react the same to different meds, its a individual thing, the side affects i noticed with Amitriptyline were tiredness, dry mouth and cravings for sweet foods.
I took 300 mg x twice a day of Tramadol slow release plus the Elevil, that combination worked pretty good for me, i didn't take the symptoms away completely but did help the severity of it all, i didn't notice any side affects with the Tramadol, but that is only me.

Hi Cream9518,

I have idiopathic Neuropathy too. I also get pain in either my right or left buttock, depending how I'm sitting I guess. Everytime I tell my Neuro he seems puzzled!
