nerve decompression-Hip revision?

I had a left hip revision in April this year. I have suffered a nerve injury and foot drop since that time with my surgeon saying i need six to eight months to recover. Prior to the operation i was told that in the event of nerve injury they would not consider surgery for seven months. What kind of nerve surgery is offered for hip revisions since I know decompressions are offered for knee operations. I'am going to have a nerve test in a few weeks time. My left leg was lenghted during the operation
Thanks KK
