Hi,I am new here,Went to Neuro today & did not get good news.

I am a 44 yr. old born with Spina Bifida had surgey for correction @ 1yr. of age,I was lucky and lived a normal life untill I was a teen @ which time I started having back pain that would have me leaning over (giving into it) for a few days here & there-with time got more severe-so,I ended up having another surgery for the back pain @ age 28.At this time the Dr. removed fatty Tissue that had built up over the years-Rough surgery! Anyway;Shortly after this surgery I started getting some Numbness in arm,,ect. Dr. told me if it didnt go away within the year-that it would remain that way for now on,with that said -Well;It ended up settiling in @ the outerside of my legs from the knee down to my feet -it is so painful(Peripheral Neuropathy) I've been told,I am in pain 24/7. Hurts to walk even-I dont walk anymore that I really have to,cause I walk a Ulcer on my better of the two feet, which is my driving foot.(Preesure Ulcer)I guess.Summer usually feel better till this year-my left is to be braced again, foot drop for 16 yrs.now-Was told by Neuro today that my Peroneal Nerve is dead...Nothing can be done about that. I knew it was bad-but;Hearing the word Dead-just got too me. Anyone Relate?
