Neuropathy from damaged Sciatic nerves
In Jan 2003, I had back surgery (stenosis, repaired or replaced bulging discs and cage added to support damaged L4, L5).
I still have numbness in my feet and sensations of pins & needles. The neurosurgeon told me that I had let my back go too long (about 8 years) and that the pinched nerves were permanently damaged, and would not get better. He said that I could have epidurals to temporarily ease the pain.
I have talked with many people who got no relief from epidurals.
A friend recently told me that she had radio-frequencey facet nerve block, and that she has been pain-free for a year.
I cannot find anyone who does this near me. Has anyone had this done? Any advise?
I am in constant pain, usually increasing at night, or after walking or standing a few minutes. I have stabbing pains in my feet, and I have several 'charlie horses' in my feet and/or legs every day. Sometimes the pain is so intense that I just feel like I would rather die than continue with this pain.
