Hi Sharmar68, I only have a few suggestions that may or may not be helpful but here goes anyway - depending on the size of the area of concern, one thought is trying ice packs [ wrapped in a towel ] to the area, as it may numb it and hopefully reduce the pain and to the complete opposite, using warm packs wrapped it a towel or similar can affect the blood vessels & stimulate blood flow to the area, another thought is avoiding foods that stimulate the nerves, like coffee and foods high in sugar & alcohol, also avoid drinking very cold drinks sometimes they can aggravate nerves, but not everyone is the same, so what might affect one person may not affect someone else, drinking plenty of fluids [ at room temp' ] for proper hydration keeping electrolyte levels right is important for a host of good reasons as well.
Some sort of facial cream people use & dissolvable aspirin mixed together in a cup and then applied to the area, as it soaks in the skin it may calm the small nerves down from firing erratic signals, the small nerves are the ones responsible for feeling of sensation.
As far as vitamin supplements go, all the Vitamin B's are needed by the nerves, so a multi B tab certainly wouldn't hurt, I am not sure about herbs someone else here may be able to help, but I remember reading something about Chamomile tea as being relaxing for the nerves, sorry can't be of more help.
