it can be kind of an individual type thing depending upon your symptoms and what it is you are trying to treat. when i FIRST took this stuff the very next morning(this was just after the very first dose)some lower leg swelling i had went away. the day after that, this incredible knee swelling i also had went down about half. i was taking this mostly for RSD in my knee? by the end of that very first week,my knee, which had ALWAYS been runing its own little "fever"(always was between 101 and 102 degrees taken by a skin thermometer?) just in that knee alone from the RSD,actually went completley away for me. just crazy. on the flipside tho,i suffered some pretty profound side effects like up and down double vision? not the normal kind of doubling side to side that you normally get with double vision. my ability to really 'control' my legs went crazy,so bad so that i would not even take the risk of actually just going down my basement stairs to do a load of laundry or attempt to try and drive on this crap. but by far,the worst for me was the swelling of my kidneys on this crap. it is very extensively metabolized within the kidneys and not the liver like alot of other meds are. i already had enlarged kidneys just from having a kidney disease that creates large cysts in them,so this was just insane for me. i had to go off of it just becasue i became pretty much non functional on it. it kind of sucked becasue it was the first and only med i had ever tried that actually even touched my RSD pain and another nasty non responsive to narcotics type pain syndrome called central pain syndrome? but i just could not tolerate the side effects.
it really is kind of a hit or miss type response that people will get with this med(and pretty much others as well). either they tend to have alot of side effects or none really to speak of,ya know? its just one of those meds that you yourself just have to try and see how it goes with your individual pain and overall body physiology too. it could be the best thing you ever tried for your pain or it could casue you problems, but you just wont really know anything til you at least give it a try. this really did some amazing things for some really insane pain and other symptoms i had going on for years, that nothing else ever worked on,so there ya go. i would at least give it a go and just see how you respond to it. if it doesn;t work, you can always taper off of it ya know? but at least you wont keep wondering would it have worked had i just tried it. this is just how things are in the pain management world. espescially with the non responsive to narcotics type of pain crap. i DO wish you lots of luck with this and hope it works without giving you problems. please keep me posted. Marcia
