I have been dealing with small fiber neuropathy for almost two years, along with chronic joint pain and dry burning eyes. I have had 3 emgs ,many mri's and I don't know how many blood tests. No one can find anything. The other day my neurologists decided to test my Vitamin d level and it was so low it didn't even register a number. This I find strange because I take calcium with vit. d and 400 IUs of Vit. d a day. Well he started me on a large dose vit. d regiment but my question is has anyone heard of this contributing to small fiber neuropathy or pain. He said if I can get it back up it might help with the pain but he couldn't quarantee anything. I want it to work so bad, I am so tired of the pain.

I am also on a Vitamin D supplement. It was never low prior to this and I believe it's because I spent almost the entire summer indoors. I have NO heat tolerance and was only outside for my son's activities and walking to and from my car. I was on a high dose for once a week for 6 weeks and then a daily supplement. I haven't noticed my pain lessening.

Hi Zoey. I have been on trileptal since May 08 and it has caused me to gain about 20 lbs. My neuro put me on it for the muscle spasms and it definitely reduced those by 90%. I Have been trying to lose the weight but couldn't so I decided to take myself off of the cause of the weight gain 3 days ago. Since I came off of the trileptal I have noticed an increase in burning so I don't know how long I'll be off. I am thinking that it is the trileptal not the lyrica controlling the burning. Have you ever tried trileptal?

Zoey, Strike that last response. The burning got so bad yesterday. I realized stopping the trileptal was a bad idea so I took one last night.
