Anyone know anything about complications with the saphenous nerve, such as saphenous nerve entrapment neuropathy or symptoms of disorders of the saphenous nerve, where to get info. from reliable sources that I can take to my doctor?
I have been having severe sharp pain along the medial aspect of my knee which runs down the medial aspect of my leg following along my shin bone down to my ankle and occassionally shoots to my pig toe. I have tumors that start just below the knee and run down along the medial side of my shin bone. Pain is increased when pressure of any kind is applied to the tumors and that is when the pain shoots clear down my leg to my toe. The tumors are small palpable nodules that also run along the medial side of my shin bone. I have been on crutches beacuse the pain and swelling has been so bad I couldn't stand to put any weight on it. I've been on crutches for about 5 months now. My doctor placed me on a medication that is supposed to help with nerve pain about a week and a half ago and it has helped but not taken it away. Because it helped we know that the problem is coming from a nerve it is just a matter of what one, why, and what to do about it.
I've done a lot of research and think it is my saphenous nerve and the info. I found on saphenous nerve entrapment neuropathy sounds exactly like what I've been trying to explain to the doctors for months. I've seen two different orthopedic surgeons and they both found my patella femoral syndrome that I've had for years and wouldn't listen to a word I said and refused to look further for something else being wrong.
I need some help and fast. I have another doctors appointment on Tues. and am hoping to get info. from reliable sources on this condition to take with me to help explain what is going on.
