typing with 1 finger of left hand. fell 3 and a half weeks ago, fractured humerus and dislocated rht shoulder. still pretty immobilized -healing fracture. in wrist brace and sling. Have radial nerve palsy. painful, scary. can't work, had to cancel all piano gigs. can't extend fingers or move wrist. if you have this or have recovered plz write.
I woke up Saturday morning and i couldn't move my hand. I went to the er and they said it is wrist drop. I had Scoliosis surgery two years ago, so i don't know if this could be a pinched nerve or what.

i hope your wrist is better soon. perhaps you slept on your arm wrong? i heard u can have radial nerve damage/palsy from that but it will come back. just takes months and is so frustrating and painful.

Did the use of your hand come back? i wish it was my left hand, since Iam right handed. I can't even put my hair in a pony tail! Did you go to a Neurologist. I am scared.
Hi Kristie, no...I can not use right hand yet. Fingers won't extend, and now I can't even make a fist because of swelling and pain. My wrist is floppy. I had an EMG, and I have severe radial nerve damage. The neurologist said it should return in @ a year. The nerve pain is bad. I see an occupational therapist 2x a week, plus a physical therapist for my shoulder 2x a week. Have you been to a dr? I believe you will have use of your right hand, but it can take some time, depending on where your nerve damage began. Since mine started in the shoulder near my neck, it can take a year! I am a professional piano player and school counselor so this has really set me back. < edited > -kathy
