Had 2 surgeries for a very bad drop foot caused by a severed peroneal nerve at the knee. Right after each surgery (one at the ankle, one at the knee), it hurt like hell. But the surgeries were well worth it, and the nurses handled my pain pretty well. One caveat (although this may apply only to my particular foot drop)--I still have a severe drop foot. But the surgeries got me out of a horrible leg brace, and they were well worth it. I wish you very good luck.
