Question If you have nerve pain (more)

can the doctor's cut the nerve so then you
won't feel any more pain???
I have asked different doctor's and no one
can give me an answer to my question.
I don't want to live with this pain for the
rest of my life and be on pain med's the
rest of my life, if there's surgery that can
fix my pain (surgery is what got me into
this pain in the first place) then i will
go and have surgery again. I have been to a pain
clinic but all they want me to do is exercise
to help me control my pain, i dont want to control
it, i want to fix it! UGH!! it's like i'm not
getting any answers from anyone so i thought that
i would come on here to see if anyone can help me!
I have written on here before but i see that no one
answered back, so i thought that i would try again. Kim

Basically no, the docs can't usually just cut the nerve. The nervous system is too complicated to be able to pinpoint small nerves like that. Residual pain after gall bladder removal is a common thing (although not to the severity you report). That may be why you are not getting a very satisfactory response from your doctors. Generally, this pain is of the lost limb variety and diminishes over time. It is more likely your pain is from possible adheisions (or however you spell it) than from any nerve being injured. Good luck with pinpointing the cause and eradicating it!

I am 99% sure in my heart that this horrible
constant pain is from nerve damage from the
g/b surgery. Pinch yourself and don't let
go just keep pinching yourself, that's how my
pain feels. Pain med's dont even help! :-(
I am just about ready to sue every darn doctor out
there that doesn't do anything for my pain, and
just tells me to "just deal with it".
If i had powers i would give every one of those
doctor's whom i saw my pain, then i can tell them
to "just deal with it".
IF i had proof that my pain is caused from nerve damage from g/b surgery i would sue the pants off of the surgeon who wrecked my body and my life!!
I can't function anymore, i always wonder now what's my point on living if i'm in constant 24/7 pain!!
And no this pain isn't like from a lost of a limb
phantom pain, it's much much worse, like nerve damage
from what i have read on the internet.
oh i finally got an email back from the program lady who works at the pain clinic and she said that she will discuss my concerns with the doctor's there about that i dont want to join this pain group to where i will just be "exercising". I told her that i want to see a medical doctor or a neurologist.
instead of just pushing me away and saying "oh just do exercise and learn to deal with it".
I think it's very inhumane to just tell someone that, and not even bother to look into it, and do more testing, etc.. well i have rambled on enough, i'm just so frustrated at these darn doctor's, they act like well if there not the ones in pain, who gives about the people who are in pain. that's just my 2 cents! Kim

I do understand how you feel. I was told to just deal with it for decades before they actually found anything and now geeze I don't even want them to look any further they have found too much :/

Hi Kim,

I wonder if your abdominal pain since GB surgery could be due to adhesions. I had that experience myself and the pain was constant and no meds relieved it. I did much research until I found a surgeon (an adhesion specialist)to do minimally invasive surgery to just remove the adhesions. (The original surgeon did not want to use the word "adhesions" because that could indicate that his/her technique was less than wonderful, although some people are just prone to developing adhesions.) Anyway, my corrective surgery was done 3 years ago and it was a success. ( my original surgery was a real botch job..I had a bile leak and had to have a stent put in...it's not surprising that adhesions (scar tissue) developed as a result. You can do a google search for adhesions and find a board that can refer you to surgeons in your area to use minimally invasive, laporoscopic correction. I wonder if this could be the healing modality for you...just be sure you get yourself to a specialist for adhesions. Good luck to you!!
Sunny
