weird sensation in head - Neuropathy Message Board

Please help. I get this weird sensation inside my head. The best way to describe it is to say that if you try to imagine what it would feel like to have egg cracking and dripping down...inside your head. I told this to two docs who looked at me like I had l2 heads.

It does not hurt just feels so strange that it unnerves me. Also, sometimes I get a strange feeling on one side of my face...it feel dull...not totally numb but like it's drooping. When I look in the mirror my face looks perfectly fine. But I always worry is this a precusor to a stoke.

Any input is welcomed.

Hi Susie, I wrote a post a while back about a weird sensation. I think it is still below. I know what you are feeling except mine would start in my fingers and go all the way up my arm and my ear into my head. My neuro said she had several other patients who had that happen also. It is part of the neuropathy I have. I personally dont think you are going to have a stroke but it could be bells palsy starting. Im not sure though but it is something to look up and read about. neuropathy- can be caused by diabetes. maybe you need to be checked for it. diabetes can go un-diagnosed for
a while, you may have caused some problems its worth it
to have it looked at by a doctor.

I too had something similar to this years ago before being diagnosed with neuropathy. I went to a dr who had a mri done on me and other tests. They came up with nothing. I also found that taking ginseng agrivated this alot. Mine was across have of my face diagonally so they could not find any cause. But yes, it is frustrating to have people look at you like you're goofy when you try to explain it!

B12 deficiency also can cause neuropathy, I have pernicious anemia(B12 not able to absorb B12)which in turn I developed polyneuropathy and perepheral. It should be checked out as wel.
