As of last week I finished PT and percocet, right away I noticed a big difference in the pain. When I was on percocet and gabapentin I could go out and do things without thinking about pain and now after I stopped taking the percocet I can't walk or climb stairs without pain. I don't know what I should do when I see my Neurologist in a few days because when I mentioned percocets in the past I was told it wasn't going to help. I was given several different kinds of meds instead that had caused side effects that caused me to stop taking them. I can't go to my Neurologist and say that I know what meds will help me with my pain and improve my quality of life. I have been suffering with these pain issues for several years and no hope of any relief until the percocet. Any suggestions from anyone out there would be greatly appreciated.
I.. like you have PN in my feet, legs and w/me also my hands and have since 07. Like you I'm on Gab...but I take 3600mg a day. W/me it helps some w/the pain and numbness which I take as being damn lucky...I'm able to get out of bed in the morning and go to work which is VERY important.
I've taken percs for back pain before but w/me it makes me feel stupid and w/being on the Gab I like to be in more control of what I'm doing...not sure about you but my balance is complete crap...and being on perc's I'd be afraid I'd take a fall more easily.
I can see why your Neuro wouldn't want to give you a scrip for Perc...I agree w/captin and sounds like a Pain Doc is something you should for sure at least check out...
Best of luck finding whatever combo of drugs helps you lead a more complete life.
