are there any tests for *SMALLER* fiber neuropathy?
So I know nerve conduction tests and EMGs exist, but they only really test the main trunk of the nerves. I was wondering if there is a test out there for the smaller peripheral branches?

Anyone know of anything?
What I have read is they perform a skin biopsy. You can read about it on the internet by using SFN as your search.

Hi, I had a sural nerve biopsy that confirmed I had small fiber neuropathy. The procedure is invasive and leaves a nasty scar above your ankle and the feeling on my right foot from my ankle to my baby toe has no feeling. I think there may be a better way. Best of luck, June
