Is gluten intolerance similar to lactose intolerance in that you will only have symptoms after consuming gluten? Or since there can be damage to the bowel wall, would you have symptoms all the time?
How long after starting a gluten free diet, would it take to have any improvement in symptoms?
Well to see improvments you must go totally gluten free not 90% but, 100%.. that means you must check everything that goes into your mouth.. starting from food to medication, lipstick, candy, lipstik..etc etc etc.. Gluten is a big Monster making lots of us sick, if gluten is making you sick then its time you stop. I dont know your symptoms but, if you feel any discomfort after eating, then chances are the gluten is getting you. If you are Lactose intolarents then chances are you are gluten intolarents.. You should try both gluten free and, lactose free diet.. if you see an improvement, then eat that way forever.

So then, are you saying that the symptoms would only occur after eating gluten? Not all the time, steadily worsening regardless of what I eat, or don't eat?
My main problems are having no appetite at all and feeling uncomfortably full. It is not related to when, if, or what I eat.
I did try a strict gluten free diet for about 3 or 4 weeks, with no effect. I didn't know if that would have been long enough to have seen an effect.
