I am 19 yrs old, 5'10 at 125 lbs. I am healthy but very skinny for my height. I want to gain weight....at least about 10 lbs. Please someone help me in telling me what kind of foods will help in gaining weight. I dont care if its not healthy LOL ill eaT healthy after i gain the weight...as you can see i am desperate. I look like a stick lol. Please....anything will help... Thanks !
i tried for years to gain weight (5'2" @98lbs). It was worthless. I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and am now able to gain some weight. I would try to find out if there is a physical reason why it is so hard for you to gain. Thyroid issues, celiac, diabetes. All these things can keep you skinny.
Stop smoking and believe me, you'll gain. Also, drink 3 milshakes a day....eat ice cream everynight before bedtime.....that'll do it!! take vitamins, exercise..................vitamins make you eat.....
dont take that advice, eating an unhealthy diet will NOT make you gain weight if you have a fast metabalism, but it WILL be very bad for your health! i do agree with the vitimins thing, you should also eat more, but eat a Blanaced diet, as in protein, dairy, fruits, vegies, and wheat, definitly protein (you want to gain Good weight not Bad weight <3 theres a difference)
im 5'1'' and 86lbs, becuase of my metabalism, and stressing all the time (ocd + anxiety) really doenst help either.. smokeing does effect your weight, becuase it takes a toll on your body's general functions includieng bloodflow, if you stop you will definitally gain some weight (and feel alot healthier)
i peroanlly cant gain much weight becuase of my anxiety problems, and i dont botehr to fallow my own advice, but that should work wonders for you~

My suggestion is to make sure there isn't a medical reason and then if there isn't, stop trying to gain...believe you me, you'll start gaining fast enough as you age! As a strong believer in low carb dieting...I do not believe that meat or eggs or cheese is going to do it for you...but I do believe that lots of white bread, pasta, sugary stuff, sodas and the such(candy), you should be big and fat in no time flat...haha! Not to mention you'll feel like death warmed over!
I know just what you're going thru. Age doesn't do it. I am now 48...and I weigh 102...always have....except pregnant...I tried to keep some of it after babies, no go....eat lots of ice cream at night....exercise...take vitamins....and eat 6 small meals a day..............no skipping...........
Im also 5'1 and i weight 90 im 21 year old.
Before i got married and had a baby i was 106, when i got pregnant i lost 10 pounds then with the baby i gained and i was totall of 127 when the baby was born i was 99.
I think it's stress, even though i eat everything i want and every time i want. I still dont gain anything. I noticed also that i dont eat as much as i use to, i can't stuff myself also.
I am now 27... 5'11'' WAS 120 lbs... I ate everything!!!!!!! But, I had a few fainting spells. I'm told due to Vasal Vagel Syncope... low blood pressure.. I was told to increase my sodium intake... I did, and gained 10-12 lbs... I KNOW IT'S HARD TO GAIN WEIGHT. But just as an unlucky overweight person MUST eat less, you must eat MORE (Boo Hoo). Seriously, take vitamins... eat as if you would die if you did not... I know it won't feel good... no further comments
It is such a relief that I am not the only skinny person out there who can't gain weight. I'm 5'0 and weigh 92 lbs. Before I got pregnant I used to weigh between 112 -115, after I had the baby I just kept losing weight. I've even tried the unhealthy, fattening food - nothing helps. My dr. referred me to a specialist. He thinks my stomach might not be absorbing nutrients. I see her tomorrow.
It seems like everyone around me is trying to lose weight - so they all think I'm crazy when I talk about gaining weight. I get looks of envy when I divulge my weight. Someone actually told me I disgusted her when I said I wanted to gain some weight. I honestly think she meant it. It's nice to know there are others like me at the other end of the weight spectrum.
Hi. I am weighing in at 46 kgs think that's about 6stone something and my height is 5ft 2inches. I have always been small except for a time as a teenager. Ten years ago I had an operation to stop acid reflux, and I lost alot of weight. I was about 8 stone.
It has blown me away that people think they can abuse me about my weight say whatever they like to me, and that's ok. Ive been acused of being a person with anorexia, drug adict, you name it.
This so unfair, I would never dream of saying anything to someone that has a weight problem, but people think its ok to do it to me.
Five years ago I was admitted to hospital and very ill, I kept wondering why everyone was behaving stranglely/I found out a few days later by a nurse, she was told to watch and write down everything I eat, and sit with me while im eating. All this overrode a serious health problem, that's bad.
Anyway, get yourself check by a doc, eat healthly, six small meals aday, and if you are really concerned you can get a protein shack from your hospital.
