Angry Too much fiber!

I know for a fact that i eat too many fiber-filled foods, and i Hope tahst teh only cuase for my constipation problems, which went form bad to mild when i started a more balanced diet.

I am a vegatarian, and im lactosintollerant, i eat meatand meat-ish products + peanutbutter when i can, and i take lactos enzym pills so i can eat dairy, but i still eat alot more fiber than i should.

Is there anything i can do to make the fiber effect me less, like drinking more liquids maybe?

I thought fiber was supposed to be the cure for constipation, not the cause? But certainly you need to drink plenty of water along with the fiber. Maybe that's the problem.

Even in a vegetarian diet, it is difficult to imagine getting TOO much fiber. The one situation I know of where too much fiber might lead to problems is when people are taking lots of fiber supplements. This can leach nutrients out of the system.

Sometimes too much fiber can cause constipation if you're not drinking enough water with it.

Hmmm...your post is a little confusing...but I'll do my best to try to answer.

So your problem is constipation...am I correct? Well I have MAJOR constipation problems and digestive system problems, and I'm also lactose intollerant. What I realized is that dairy products CAUSE my constipation. Maybe that's happening to you too. What happens when you eat dairy without the pills? And I was considering possibly trying those pills...do they help with your symptoms?

And I saw that another person posted this as well but I'll say it again...fiber HELPS constipation. But fiber can also cause gas if you don't drink enough water, so yes...drink more water. At least 64 ounces a day, which is about 4 water bottles.

Have you found that anything HELPS your constipation?
