Question B12 Injections - how long to feel better?

I just had my second B12 injection this morning after being diagnosed a week ago. My level was 194. I had pins and needles in my hands and burning feet, mind numbing fatigue and shortness of breath.

My symptoms now seem worse than before, but I have read this can happen initially with the level being brought back up to normal. How long does it usually take to see positive results? I am also taking 1000 mcg's orally, with a B complex and a multi-vitamin.

Any replies would be appreciated, thanks.

Wow, I would think your results would be immediate. How are you doing now? I know that low iron aggravated my B12 symptoms. Maybe you need more iron? Also, you might want to make sure and have a banana everyday to minimize any side effects/symptoms.

Re: B12 Injections - how long to feel better?

Thanks for your reply. I ended up having four weekly injections. Then my doctor waited a month while I continued to take 1000mcgs orally. They tested my level and it was around 500, so they aren't giving me any injections now, they only do it if you're below 400. In the meantime I am still taking it orally, and recently started taking it in the morning and at night. I still am having symptoms, and have decided to try to get to the cause of it with my gastroenterologist. I feel better than I did when I first found out but not totally fine yet. Less tingling but still fatigued and I am having a lot of muscle cramps.
