recovery from B12 deficiency

Once the deficienty has been identified and remedied, how long does it take for its symptoms to disappear?

Re: recovery from B12 deficiency

It has taken 18 months for me to recover. I didn't start to get better for about 8 months, in fact for the first few months of having B12 replacement therapy I continued to get worse. This time last year I could hardly get out of bed and was registered blind as the b12 deficienty had affected my optic nerve and caused total mid vision loss. Happily my sight has almost totally returned and most of the other symptoms have disappeared. I am still having 6 weekly B12 injections although I am able to absorb it through my stomach and when last tested my level was 995 (whereas as it was 123 when first diagnosed).

Don't expect a quick recovery and be patient. I feel like a new person and wake up happy every day now I can see again. Good luck!
