why is gluten required to gain weight?

yeah i know all the calories are socked away in nice starchy foods and carbs.. well it would seem.. well yes - the complex carbs.. it would seem for stable for energy., well there are few gluten free things u can still find that are complex cabs..

now to be honest you woul dhave to eat a truck load of potatoes daily to gain weight - pasta a little easier but these are things that are high on the gly index and generally arnt healthy anyway.. infact most calories that cause weight gain in people are consumed in sugary beverages.. be it crap drinks like coke or more sensible ones like fruit juice... and other thigns like fat....

well u want weight fast.. and no gluten.. well animal fats come to mind.. as does vegitable and dairy fats.. fruit juices.. will suffice aswell.. as will some nuts or nut oils...lots of these things u will need to snack on to keep your blood sugar consistent without the complex carbs..

but most of the body is built of proteins.. - so load up on protein mixes and supplements.. -- that will put weight on with minimal other carbs,, but simple sugars are still necessary as will be animal and vegitble fats..-good luck to you

Re: how to gain weight fast if you are gluten-intolerent

High calorie foods that have no gluten:

Dried fruit
Oil (olive, canola, etc.)
Rice, maize (prefer whole grain)
Lean other meat

You could, of course, eat high calorie junk food, sugary drinks, and fatty meat just to get calories in, but they may be unhealthy in other ways. But note that many processed and prepared foods contain wheat, so it would be better to prepare your own food out of single ingredients mostly found at the sides of the grocery store.

Obviously, when you gain weight, you want to make sure that your body composition is healthy with respect to percentage muscle versus percentage fat. Doing weight training exercise, along with sufficient protein intake, should help with ensuring that some of your gains come from muscle.
