I have friends who have experienced starvation, some self inflicted (though it's not really self inflicted if it's an illness) and some because of political circumstances. After a period like that, you may experience disordered eating in the opposite direction, and sort of become addicted to the sensation of over-fullness. This is a perfectly natural reaction, but it is good that you have the mind to get it under control before it gets out of hand.
The best thing to do is like the previous poster said and see a psychiatrist. I would also follow that up with consistent weekly meetings with a therapist and also a support group such as Overeaters Anonymous or whatever spiritual group your belief system has for eating related issues.
Yoga is also very good for helping to keep the mind and body balanced and to right one's self after any kind of traumatic period.
If you have your mind under control you may still get a little chubby, but it will only go so far, and it will be a plumpness that is natural and beautiful on you rather than a disordered type of either extreme obesity or extreme thinness.
Just remember that eating disorders are very much like any other kind of addiction. It is a lifelong struggle to keep yourself together and from either going to extremes or replacing it with another harmful addiction. You've got to keep at it even when the struggle isn't so apparently difficult. Things can build up or sneak up on you and you can find yourself back where you started.
There are others here with similar issues, so don't be afraid to give a shout even on the "crazy" days when things seem overwhelming. Just try to remember that on the net people often say some negative and unhelpful things. Focus on the positive and constructive.
Good luck
