Question Sagging Skin

Hi, I'm 20 years old. I have about 90 pounds to lose. I'm kind of scared that I'm going to get a bunch of sagging skin. Everyone tells me that since I am so young that my skin should go back into place. I'm just kinda scared. I've seen these pictures of people that have lost weight and all that skin is just hanging. Well, Thanks everyone. Bye.

Re: Sagging Skin

When I was 17 I lost 60 pounds. I went from 221 to 161. My skin did not sag at all. I think the key is making sure that you dont lose it too quick to give your skin the chance to get tighter. Also make sure you exercise also, that helps a lot with your skin. I am now 21 and have gained every bit of it back and then some!! Did I mention that I have also had a child since then also, which makes it harder to lose. I really need to lose about 95 pounds now. How are you going to try to lose your weight? Are you going to join a health program, gym, etc.? I lost those 60 pounds at Weight Watchers. Thanks for listening! Sarah

Re: Sagging Skin

Whenever I first started losing weight I was at 236 and I'm at 212 right now. It has taken me a long time to lose that because I've only lost a pound a week. But I'm trying to lose it a slow as possible believe it or not. I don't want it to come off fast because I feel like if I lose it too fast I'll take it for granted and not really care about and also I know its not healthy to lose weight too fast. But the first 20 pounds I lost I lost through Weight Watchers. But after being on that so long I thought I need to learn to do this on my own because I don't want to have to count points and calories the rest of my life. So pretty much I'm just eating right ( lean meat, veggies, fruits, whole grains, low fat dairy ) also I do aerobics 3 times a week and strength training and stretching every other day. Sorry So Long. Thanks for replying it made me feel a lot better Hope to hear from you again.

Thumbs up Re: Sagging Skin

You shouldn't let sagging skin worry you worry you. You are young and that will be of great advantage to you. A healthy person with saggy skin is a lot better than an overweight one with tight skin. If the exercise and healthy food don't work to tighten your skin up, you can also have plastic surgery to have the extra skin removed.

It sounds like you have a very positive attitude towards your weight loss and you are being realistic about not trying to crash diet. Keep up the great work.
