 Fat - but not for long
Hey everyone. I'm fat. I'm 31, male, 5'7" and 240 lbs.
I used to be afraid of the word, so I would use euphamisms like "heavy", "overweight", "chubby", "husky"...and the list goes on. Nothing wrong with the words really, unless you're using them to avoid the other.
Recently, I was diagnosed with hypertension (160/110) and a cholesterol level that needs to be closely watched before it gets bad. Well, that news certainly put me into a new light.
My dad died from Diabetes at 62.
My mom is borderline.
My sister is diabetic now...
My WHOLE life, I have been struggling with being fat (physical, social and emotional angst) and always vowed to one day take it off. I used to eat horribly, but in recent years I curbed that problem. It didn't help me with exercise though.
Needless to say, I am now committed to exercising every day for the rest of my life, no matter what, no excuses. You know what? It's not as hard as I thought...it really isn't...and it's working!
Just remember, that your mind is powerful and can work against you. It can also work for you in a big way. We are all worth it. Forgive others...forgive yourself and you can make it happen.
I just wanted to share my new inspiration in hopes that it might help spark others.
