Question to all!!

I have been a big girl for a long time. I am not happy with my life, and in result of being this big, I have had some problems. I have depression as well as panic disorder. I am also a major hypochrondiac. And just recently I figured out the root of all my problems. Its not just a matter of me being big. It goes a lot deeper than that. At times my stomach would hurt for no reason. And in general I would hurt. The aches and pains of the way I was leading my life and still are have really gotten to me. And I found out what needs to be done in order for me to lose weight and try to be happy.. and many people dont even realize that this is a major problem for them. The liver. I have been diagnosed with Liver dysfunction. With this common disease comes some very common symptoms. My question to all of you, have you had your livers checked out? If its fatty, or if its not working properly, you will gain weight and feel like crap all the time. I never knew that I had this kind of problem. So maybe I can mention something here maybe I can help some. If you havent had your liver checked. Please go and have it done. Blood tests alone are not good enough. Go and have ultrasounds and ct scans of the abdomanal area. They will let you know what is going on with your liver. From what I have read and done research on, if you get your liver straightened out, then weight will be easier to lose. The liver is the source for all fat burning for your body. Everything gets filtered through it. If too much fat is being processed through the liver, it gets overworked, and it starts backing up, storing fat where its not supposed to be stored. Sorry for the chit chat.. But let me know what all of you think. I just found this out and I am happy and hope that this new diet that I am going to do is going to work for me. If youre really interested in this diet, go to the bookstore, and pick up the book from Sandra Cabot, The Liver Cleansing Diet. I am currently reading through it and are going to ask my doctor about it on Friday. I love to hear from all of you, and your experiences.

Re: Question to all!!

Hi,
So I'm interested in knowing what your doctor said on Friday about your new diet. Is this a diet or a life change? Have you started and what are your results...maybe too early for that question. Keep us informed. Best of health!

Re: Question to all!!

I know that cats get fatty liver disease because of too many carbs in their diet, since cats are strictly carnivores (compared to bears and dogs) they can't handle carbs too well,

I just read an article that you need fat to burn fat if the liver doesn't get enough fat the fat accumulates in the liver, so maybe a too low fat diet can cause some to develope fatty liver disease, just guessing of course.

but I know very little about this condition, I hope you get better there is nothing worse than not feeling good.

RR

Re: Question to all!!

Well the diet is good, but I have decided to moderate it a little because eating all natural and organic foods, are expensive. My husband and I are on a budget. I have been eating more fruits, veggies raw, and a lot more green stuff at dinner. This may sound strange, but eat a piece of fruit with ever meal. It helps. I can tell you, that over the course of 3 days, I have felt pretty good. So good in fact, I havent felt this good in a while. As for results yet, I dont think there are any,. But here is what I have started doing so that others can maybe try it... eat more fish, BAKED, or GRILLED. NO fried foods. You can eat chicken, but cook the chicken without the fat and skin on it. Again Fried foods are out. BEANS, eat as many beans of all kinds... I am cooking pintos today in my crock pot.. Last night had limas, Limas are excellent. Eat raw fruit and veggies more for snacks. And stay away from sugars. Drink juices, and at least 2 liters of water per day. Beets and Carrots are great sources for cleansing the liver, as well, as helping and aiding in metabolism. Must eat them raw. However, I cant find raw beets, so I bought the ones in the cans. Eat red meat maybe 1 time per week. Make sure its cut from lean meats. No hamburger meats. That is made from fat. And that is bad fats. Try making fruit smoothies at home, add raw fruits, ice and mix. Its a great treat. If youre like me, all these foods can make you gassy, try beano. It really works. And it works wonders if you take it right before you eat. So far I do feel a lot better. And the key, stay hydrated. Your bowels will thank you. Try not to be constipated. I can give you some helpful hits and natural remedies if anyone is interested in it. Taking laxitives are not the best soulutions. Well, if you have any questions, I would love to help. And I will share all my experiences with you. Let me know if youre interested.

Re: Question to all!!

Hi Dragonsbeauty,
Sounds like you found a winner of a "change of life" way of consuming food. I've been eating like what you have explained for about a year and yes, feel much better. Don't forget to exercise, even if it's just walking everyday for now. Maybe you can get hubby to walk after dinner with you. Natural and organic can be expensive but compare it to a three dollar box of cookies or four dollar ice cream. It works for me. A true story...I was shopping and this woman looked in my cart remarking she'd never pay $3.99 for strawberries. I looked in hers (filled with junk) and replied back but you'll pay how much for all that unhealthy food? She went away mumbling. Applaud yourself every time you have a piece of friut!!!
