? for overweight females

This is an embarressing ? but this is the best place to ask it. The skin my inner thighs is dark. I asked my OB-GYN why and she said it happens to people who are overweight. I want to get rid of it but don't know how. I asked them what I can do and they said they didn't know if laser surgery would help. I was wondering if the same lotions you use on your face to lighten discoloration would help. Since it would have to be for sensitive skin if you use it on your face I would think it might work. I keep seeing soaps and lotions for lightening skin but I'm afraid to use it. Any one having simular problems?

Re: ? for overweight females

Your OB-GYN sounds like he doesn't know anything. Do you have this darkening anywhere else? Armpits? Neck? If so, it could be insulin resistance or diabeties. My brother was diagnosed with diabeties after his doctor saw that the skin around his neck and armpits etc was darker than his normal skin.

Get yourself checked for insulin resistance by a doctor, and if that comes up negative the only thing I can think of is because your legs are bigger they rub together. I don't really think theres a way to get rid of it unless you lose weight and stop your theighs from rubbing.

But I know how you feel, i have the same problem and its very unattractive

Re: ? for overweight females

That's the only place where the skin is darker. Maybe it will go away after I loose weight. I certainly hope so. I've already lost 42 pounds

Sandi:
Congrats on loosing all that weight. I myself have been struggling with my own weight. I have had two ankle surgeries in the last year and I am total non weight bearing, so I don't get to exercise at all.
How did you do loose the weight? Are you following a diet plan?

I did weight watchers <a while ago>. I had lost 28 pounds, then my mom passed away. I haven't been able to get back on track with it.

Good luck..keep us posted!!!

Patty

Re: ? for overweight females

I have it too and I believe it could be brown fat
it is harder, doesnt get enough blood supply or collagen to remain supple. actually where I have brownness inside thighs is actually less tender and it is beginning to start on my lower abdomen
a quack doctor could not control my water gain.
in the matter of 3 days i went from being able to fit behind a cart at wally world to not being able to fit
the hospital took 100 lbs of fluid off me and I went into congestive heart failure
pulmonary failure and kidney failure. The abdomen is the hardest to lose and the skin is toughening. I have been using cocoa butter and creams with olive oil
she butter is supposed to help
the brown fat is similar to the hard nasty stuff on the outside of pork roasts
