Re: gastric bypass question
You have a lot of things to consider other than JUST being over weight...Talk to your family Doctor and/or any other Dr you go to as well as a surgeon who does Gastric Bypass surgery. Go to seminars (usually required in NC) and get all the info you can.
I had my Gastric Bypass done in 10/2011 - I was 48 yrs. old and my only regret is that I did not have it done 10 years sooner. HOWEVER, in addition to gaining 70 lbs after quitting smoking, I had begun having HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, SEVERE BACK PAIN (had one surgery that was a waste of time) and several other problems...I was very afraid I would end up with Diabetes. MY Pulmonary Dr (yes, I had had bronchitis so much from smoking) highly recommended GBS. I weighed 278 lbs at the time. I have NEVER regretted having this surgery for one minute...HOWEVER it is NOT for everyone. Like everything else it has it's CONS but for me they are so out weighed by the PROS. My suggestion: TALK to everyone until you decide what is right for YOU! Good Luck and God Bless!
